Established in the heart of the Hunter Valley, Adina Vineyard’s story began in the early 2000s when visionary entrepreneur Peter O’Meara acquired the property. By 2003, Adina Vineyard was flourishing, offering a diverse range of experiences, including exquisite wines, premium olive products, and luxury accommodation.
Mr. O’Meara’s passion for winemaking was evident in his hands-on approach. Collaborating closely with his winemaker, he spearheaded the development of premium wines, introducing alternate varieties like Pinot Grigio, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, and Cabernet Franc to the region. These bold choices showcased his commitment to innovation and quality.
Beyond wine, Mr. O’Meara played a pivotal role in the olive industry.
As president of the Hunter Olive Association and briefly leading the Australian Olive Association, he championed the growth and development of olive production in the region.
His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish the Hunter Olive Boutique Growers, providing local growers with essential processing facilities for olive oil and table fruit.
In 2014, Mr. O’Meara’s vision expanded with the construction of a state-of-the-art facility housing a Pieralist olive mill imported from Italy. This investment catered to the burgeoning olive industry in the Hunter Valley and surrounding areas.
Adina Vineyard’s legacy of excellence and innovation continues to thrive, building upon the foundation laid by Peter O’Meara’s passion and dedication. Today, Adina Vineyard stands as a testament to his vision, offering visitors an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Hunter Valley.
